Ok to finish up the orion to ranger ev wiring the only thing is left is wiring the under hood wiring correct ...

here is a step by step what I did to my truck .....

Step 1

This is the wiring for the DB9 that goes on the end of the cable that is called can1 for programming with a laptop and also to plug in the wireless device I used you can find that in the bluetooth device section .........  also remember to put one of the 120 ohm resistors they sent between the can1 low and can1 high wire ...  then I take pin #1 and #2 and hook them to battery ground ....

I take pin#9 and run it to battery+ in my case I have both connections right in front of the elcon charger I installed

the avc2 unit which has both wires I need already marked so I just hooked them into those two wires ...

Below is the step by step sheets I have done to my own ranger ev ..............................

Installing a Orion BMS system in a Ranger EV ....  I already installed one and decided to actually make a diagram and

put it on the website in case anyone was wondering if it could be done ......

the Orion system comes with a lot of bells and whistles ...  some of the wiring I don't even try to hook up a bit too

confusing to me ... 

I fully understand the system was pretty much made as a stand alone system and not really designed to be added to

an existing oem system ...  you have to be careful not to get any feedback by turning on or installing a part of it that

will conflict with the original system ...

the biggest thing is making sure you don't create a leakage in the oem system or it will create a lot of problems .....

and On to the install ..............................

First here is the wiring I decided on ... trying to use all the wiring inside the pack as much as possible ...

I will only run the can1 wiring out of the pack with a quick disconnect on the pack to be accessed when wanted ...

the can1 wiring does not need to be connected to the computer all the time ... once it is programmed you can

unplug it and it will do what you program it for ......

I will not pretend to know much about the system and there is way more then I want to use ......  I am only hooking

up what I need for the protection of the cells and to allow the system to work on bringing the high cells down

and equalizing the pack ...

it is a great design and a great bms .....
