163AH Ranger EV
Installed the new charger and mounting assy. into place and wired it into the correct places ready to charge ....
Installed the new stereo system and programmed it to read the correct needed displays......
A New cell has come forth and it is a 163ah aluminum encased cell LifePo4 smaller lighter and stronger
time to make a truck from them the cells weigh 4.4lbs each less then 500 lbs of cells will really make a great 120 plus mile truck out of these trucks.... onward to the upgrade ......
3d printers going in action and into full production ... these are really cool little machines once you get them set up for doing a single thing over and over is pretty darn simple ... maybe not as cheap as having someone else do them but at least its faster and adjusted however we need done right now and in the future .....
Plugged it in to allow it to fully charge for testing everything looks good this one will head to its new owner after full testing ... first headed to local tire shop for 4 new balanced and mounted tires ........
Pick out a nice low mileage clean truck to do this new upgrade to ... found a nice one ....
as you can see went to work assembling the pack after 3d printing all the needed holding cases tops bottoms etc.. i banded them into sections and then set them into place and gluing them into final resting positions ... really nice and clean ... added the orion ..bcm... new gas gauge kit .. spoof board kit ... new low voltage cable wired into place ...... ready to install back into the truck after a quick testing with extension cables hooked up ...
First thing is to clean out the pack and get it ready for the new install .....
Ordered and received the new 163ah cells unboxed and realized there is no way to seperate the cells and no included bases or covers or tops so my partner said and had this idea of maybe just 3d printing our own so off to buy and learn how to make our own covers and tops and bases .... that way we could adjust to any size cells and just make the adjustments ourselves .... well we had a few trials and adjustments but was able to start printing our own .... so bases first then tops then covers and we did a great job if i dont say so myself !!!!
