Removing a Ranger EV pack

Very important to have the right tools to do a job right and safely a manual should be read beginning to end before attempting to do any repairs you can download or purchase the original manuals for these vehicles...

OK jack up the back of the truck and slide 2 jack stands underneath it .... a good creeper is almost a must also to roll around under vehicle but that's just my choice a piece of cardboard works too .....

I have been asked how I remove a pack when I need to do it mobile ...  this is how I do it home or at another location sometimes I have to do it where it is as it does not move at all ................

A good quality air wrench with heavy duty sockets is needed

remove the rear wheel you need the room to roll the pack out from under the truck..  carefully roll it back and out

now jack up the front of the truck to about 16" of height then go back to the back and raise it up as high as it can go approx. 17 inches high

now jack up the back of the vehicle to the jackstands lowest level you need to be able to get under the front so only jack it up to the lowest setting of jack stands

Removed and set aside

Roll underneath and remove this bracket at the rear of the pack

on the passenger side unplug this plug it is a pull out connector hard to get to come loose but wiggle the plug while pulling out on the tab

a custom dolley works best but you can buy some from home depot or one of the other hardware stores I am sure ....

I can do this in less then an hour , even a first timer if you take your time and be safe still will be less then 2 hours of work ........  have fun with it

empty everything out of the pack and remove all the plastic inserts from the lid and the bottom clean it up and get it ready for your new install of modules or cells....

here it is unplugged

some of the tools you need  a good quality air compressor and high pressure hose at least a 25 ft hose

you need 4 really good quality jack stands they need to be at least a 17 inch lift on them or they wont work ....

On the driver side using a long extension and a #10 metric socket undo this long bolt and pull out on the 72 pin connector watch this connector when jacking up or letting truck down it gets broken by a lot of owners not watching it close enough .....

pull the pin and disconnect the plug

ok this is the pack out pull the 22 #8 metric bolts and lift the top off ......

Let the truck back down slide the dolley under and with the jack lift the dolley against the bottom of the pack ... pull the 6 bolts 2 on the drivers side 2 on passenger side and two in front then let the jack down and the pack will be on the dolley ...

A good floor jack I like the one with the pads and bar is best it is a add on for most floor jacks and a low profile on works best
